Spring & Summer Style Guide 2020

Spring is here, we’re just waiting for it to actually feel like it consistently!

While we wait, I wanted to create some spring outfit inspiration for you to help as you plan for your session. Outfits can really impact how your photos look. You want to love the clothes you’re wearing, but you also want them to appear timeless. These ideas are to be used as a guide, it doesn't mean you need to follow them exactly - maybe you have similar pieces in your closet already. It's all about pairing light neutrals with a hint of color (usually a muted pastel color, think: light, rose-y pink, soft olive greens, light blues).

My best tip is to start with one outfit, usually moms or daughters. Find a pretty floral print that you love for yourself or your daughter (I only suggest one floral print). Then look at the colors in that dress and build from there. For dads and sons I usually recommend sticking to very classic, neutrals such as white henleys or button downs and a pair of khakis or light gray pants.

In Spring, Fall and Winter I always suggest adding layers to your outfits as well. Layers photograph really nice and it also helps incase the weather turns out to be cooler than planned. Layers like cardigans, jackets, vests are the perfect finishing touch! Don’t forget bowties, hats, headbands, and cute shoes!
